Stage Productions
JD Whyte has written, produced, and staged several plays. She began
her career way back in the days of candlelight and quill pens by writing
school and community plays starting at the ripe old age of eight when
she first read the works of William Shakespeare (okay, so she wasn't
like normal children).
Since that early beginning, JD has written several plays, including
Doctor America and Marigold's Mother. Both plays were
considered controversial because they dealt with subjects that many
considered taboo at the time in a way that was not politically correct
for the day.
Doctor America explored the AIDS issue in a time when it was
first being recognized as not just a disease contracted by homosexuals.
The play came under fire by the gay and liberal communities because it
taught abstinence to teenagers as the way to avoid contracting the
disease and tackled the feelings of many people, even those with AIDS or
who were HIV positive, that it was a gay disease that they did not
deserve.

It's Your Net!
Marigold's Mother brought to the forefront the pitfalls of
unwed teenage mothers and teen suicide. It's dark roots were meant as a
wakeup call for youth.
She is currently working on a new venture called It's You1 It's
You? This is her first musical and she is very excited about the
prospects of staging it down in Texas when we relocate there.
